I opened an IC Markets account to compare spreads and fees with my usual broker. Spreads on majors were competitive and my limit orders filled as expected most of the time. However, when volatility picked up around US news, I noticed more slippage than I anticipated (not terrible, but noticeable). Support was polite, but responses were slower when I contacted them during busy market hours. I’ll keep the account for certain strategies, but it’s not my primary choice yet.

Fast execution, but the portal feels a bit busy

Execution felt quick and I rarely saw weird re-quotes. Spreads were generally tight, though they can widen around news which is expected.
